Working and travelling abroad made easier with O2

The importance of reliable network coverage for scaling businesses trading internationally.

At O2, we understand that growing businesses are increasingly looking overseas for new trading opportunities. In November, the ScaleUp Institute published its Annual ScaleUp Review 2018, arguably the most comprehensive analysis of the UK scale-up scene.

The review noted that more than half of scale-ups (52%) were looking for ways to break down the barriers to exporting, including better introductions to buyers and simplified access to overseas markets.

In fact of those surveyed for the review, 59% are already involved in some trade to or from the EU, and significant numbers export to markets across the globe, including to Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Australia and Latin America. A further 27% plan to start doing so in the next twelve months.

At O2 we get to talk with the leaders of scaling businesses regularly through initiatives such as our #ScaleUpSeries monthly events, which we host in partnership with Enterprise Nation. When we ask what concerns them about trading internationally, they tell us that to compete effectively they need to be able to communicate and collaborate abroad just as easily as they can back in the office.

O2 can support you. We understand that when you are travelling and working abroad, effective communication and connectivity can mean the difference between winning or losing business. That’s why we have invested heavily in our 4G capability worldwide and now offer 4G in more than 100 countries, with more than 130 network partners.

We want you to feel confident that when you travel abroad on business you will experience the same fast, reliable data speeds that you rely on at home.

Back in September, we were proud to offer our business customers greater freedom to do business when calling from the UK to the EU by including calls, texts and data to the EU with many of our monthly business mobile and SIM Only plans*.

It’s just one example of our ongoing commitment to supporting the future growth of small businesses. Beyond the EU, we offer a wide range of tariffs, passes and bolt-ons to suit every business looking to scale internationally – including 4G in more than 100 countries.
