The O2 Smarta 100 is back

The O2 Smarta 100 is an annual celebration of the most resourceful, inspiring and disruptive small businesses in the UK. The shortlist for this year’s O2 Smarta 100 awards was announced earlier this month. Up until 3rd November, you can vote for the businesses you think have made the biggest impact when it comes to inspiration, social change, innovation, technology  and much more ( all the categories are listed below).

In true Smarta style, all of the businesses are united by their size, as they are all small enterprises. But more significant is the pioneering ethos they all take in disrupting their various markets, as well as influencing the fortunes of the British economy. Each year, Smarta awards £1,000 to the overall winner for each category as voted for by you, and £10,000 to the overall winner across all categories, as selected by the judges.

Previous winners include Give As You Live, a shopping and price comparison website that allows you to buy from leading retailers at the best prices whilst donating to charity. To date the company has raised over 5 million for various causes. Kigu, is another previous winner, and a brand that brought traditional Japanese animal costumes to the UK, leading the pack with the onesie craze; whilst Naked Wines is a customer funded business that invests in talented winemakers who provide wines at reduced prices for customers to enjoy. You can read about  previous winners on the website.
