O2 Business wins at Mobile News Awards 2017

O2 Business won big at the London Hilton Park Lane with no less than three awards at the Mobile News Awards 2017, and that’s good news for customers.

The network won the Internet of Things Product/Solution award for its O2 Smart Vehicle service, which passes vehicle telemetry to fleet managers in real time. It also came top of the Mobile News Mystery Shopper series to gain the Best Network (Performance) – Retail gong and became Best Recycling Provider for its O2 Recycle service. Each award highlights a way that O2 Business is helping its customers in terms of both service and innovation.

O2 Smart Vehicle

O2 Smart Vehicle is a vehicle telematics solution that provides customers with accurate information on driver behaviour, engine faults and vehicle diagnostics giving fleet managers a far more in-depth detailed picture on the performance of their fleet of vehicles.

In the average fleet, O2 Smart Vehicle can deliver a 10% reduction in fuel costs, a 10% increase in productivity and a 20% reduction in costly and unproductive idle time. These are the types of benefits that attracted engineering and plant contractor Van Elle, to O2 Smart Vehicle.

Tom Lindup, Group Managing Director of Van Elle, said: “The O2 solution is unique. Other companies could do driver behaviour and tracking, but no one else could get that detailed information from on-board diagnostics about how vehicles are performing on a day-to-day basis.”

O2 Recycle

O2 Recycle is one of the biggest and most integrated mobile network operator trade-in schemes in Europe. It offers a hassle-free way for customers to recycle their old phones when upgrading – even if they’re on a different network. They get money back, and with O2’s zero landfill policy, the environment benefits too, as old devices are responsibly reused, refurbished or recycled.
A series of milestones last year particularly impressed the judges, including passing 2 million devices processed, £150m paid to customers and £5m paid to the Telefónica charity, Think Big.

O2 Partners

O2 Business Partners also won big on the night, including Vivio, which took the Customer Service Award, as well as Uplands Communications for B2B Dealer under 50 employees and Aerial Communications for B2B Dealer over 50 employees.

Jason Phillips, head of SMB Indirect Sales at O2 said: “We’re delighted to see not only O2 direct do so well bringing home three awards but also our O2 Partners who took home the top accolade in each of the business partner categories. I’d like to congratulate Vivio, Uplands Communications and Aerial Communications for their stellar efforts in 2016 and look forward to seeing them continuing to deliver brilliantly in 2017”.
