MWC: Best Gadgets
Mobile World Congress wasn’t only about smartphones this year. We’ve created a video showcasing best of the rest that we saw this week at the Barcelona-based MWC.
From 360 experiences to newly released tablets, there’s much more to MWC than mobiles. As one of the biggest and most influential consumer tech events of the year, there’s a lot to take in. Our video (above) showcases the gems that we discovered, alongside the bigger launches of LG’s G5 and Samsung’s Galaxy S7.
Samsung’s Gear 360
The pocket-sized device captures a 360-degree video experience, perfect for property sellers and buyers, interior designers and immersive experiential marketing. These videos can either be viewed online or through VR headsets for the ultimate try-before-you-buy experience.
LG’s 360 camera and Rolling Bot
One of LG’s new range of ‘friends’ compatible with the modular L5 is a 360 camera that offers remote 360 video experiences. Another ‘friend’ that comes as a bit of a technological curveball is the Rolling Bot, a small bowling-ball sized robot that can move around your office streaming video back to your smartphone – so you can always have an eye on it.
ZTE’s Spro Plus
Forget USBs and tricky laptop connections when it comes to presentation. This powerful Android device allows you to edit a PowerPoint document, and then project it onto a wall straight from the tablet. It runs on Snapdragon 801 processor and is paired with a sharp screen, plenty of storage options and an enormous battery.
The sense that 2016 is the year of the tablet is fuelled by Huawei’s latest offering. The MateBook is thin, light and has an attachable keyboard. It runs full Windows, has a 20-hour battery life and could well be the full-blown PC experience in tablet form.
Sony’s Bluetooth earpiece
Your own personal assistant comes in the form of the Sony Xperia Ear, an accessory to the newly announced Sony Xperia X and XA smartphones. Much like Google Now, the earpiece will respond to verbal commands and be able to search the internet, transcribe an email or update the wearer on a calendar appointment.
